Packages.
A package is the unit of the carrier's world, identified as it is packed and followed to the door. visibility.cloud will write the package's chain of hands from pickup to receipt, which is precisely the stretch a carrier's own record and a receiver's own record disagree about.
The seam between pickup and delivery exists properly in neither party's system, because each recorded its own half and nobody recorded the seam. An event at the handoff is the seam, made a fact rather than an inference.
The package carries its identifier and its association with the units inside it, so a claim about contents travels with the parcel.
The envelope, at the handoff a carrier and a receiver disagree about.
